Seph stumbled through the forest with a huff. The bow which cursed him on his back and his turtwig having a lay down on his head. Flora had offered to lead Seph out, but he had refused. He could find his own way out! He would do this himself if it was the last thing he did. He looked up to see that the leaves of the forest had covered sky from sight like a blanket. He couldn't believe he was STILL lost in this god forsaken forest! He had been blundering about like the lost pup he was for days, first in a desert then in a plain like area with not enough trees, and now a place with too big of trees! He reached behind him and grasped his bow with a gasp of pain as he bumped it against the tree trunk. He would have to be more careful, whatever 'pain' the bow felt, he felt. It was a curse he was forced to live with for the rest of his days for doing a horrible deed, which he believed to be entirely his fault.

Silas couldn't breath. But not because of the intimidating forest, or the somewhat distasteful scent of mixed herbs, wet soil, and wild pokemon. It was because he was currently in a choke hold. He whined loudly, trying to catch his trainer's attention. As dainty as Philomel's hands were, they were literally pushing the air out of his lungs from how tightly he was being held.

But Philomel didn't seem to be paying attention. She squeaked at every twig, every cry in the distance, every rustle of the leaves. Her painful hold on her beloved partner only grew worse as she wandered about the dark forest, completely unaware of what lied ahead. Well, not entirely. She'd picked up some rumors about evil, wild pokemon or trainers that jump out and literally attack you and steal your pokemon. That didn't help.

The girl jumped, suddenly hearing footsteps. "AIYEEEH!" She cried, immediately making a mad dash to the opposite direction. Her haste interrupted her footing, causing the dark-haired girl to slip. She landed on her bottom with a painful thump. Her Zorua gave an annoyed growl, managing to jump out of her grasp as she fell. He sat down in front of his recovering trainer, sighing inwardly at her blind actions.

Seph was startled by the sound of sudden running feet and the thump of someone falling. He knew he should go check to see just what that was going on, so he rushed over towards the sound. He witnessed a girl laying on the ground with a strange black and red pokemon he had never seen before stand before him. He had never seen that kind of pokemon before, but it didn't seem too happy.
"Hey..." He spoke, "Are you okay? Is your er...pokemon, friendly?" He asked. He had seen pokemon attack back at his home, where his father was a pokemon hunter. The smell of the pokemon's blood that usually hung onto him caused pokemon to hate him usually. He was surprised Flora and Lucius liked him, had the smell worn off maybe?

Upon hearing the unknown voice, Philomel scrambled onto her feet, effectively scraping her knees in the process. She winced, forcing herself to stand up. Panicked amber eyes met with emerald ones, trying to decide whether or not this newcomer was threatening. Male, average build, nothing too capable. Yet, that still wasn't enough to convince her.

"Stay back! Stay back!" The girl cried as she walked backwards, trying to shuffle away from the stranger. Her Zorua growled, ears flattening and fur puffing up as he saw the boy. The dark type could scent out pokemon, possibly the Turtwig on his head. but that was not what he found threatening. There was something on this boy... something otherworldly. Like a dark aura placed upon him. A curse? Silas couldn't be sure. But he had to protect his trainer. He bared his fangs, continuing to growl and hiss in attempts of driving the boy away.

Philomel's back collided with hard bark. She flinched, before suddenly having something fall onto her head. "Ouch!" She brought a hand up, rubbing her head. Looking down, she saw a small, leaf-covered creature with a weird spring on its head. The creature growled, shaking its coated body. It obviously didn't seem happy to be awakened. It gave a shrill cry, causing the girl in front of it to bring her hands up to her ears.

Almost immediately after the cry was sounded, a rustling came from the nearby bushes. A small budew hopped out, looking just as ticked off. It puffed its body up to look bigger, glowing ever so slightly as it used Growth.

"Ok, so I'm assuming those pokemon AREN'T friendly..." Seph sighed as his turtwig hopped off of his head and landed on the ground in front of the budew. The turtwig puffed her cheeks at the pokemon, a bit angry with it for attacking. She acted on command, withdrawing into her shell to raise her defense before coming back out long enough to Tackle the budew. She slammed into it and gave a cry as it used absorb, taking in some of the grass pokemon's health, not much though since they were the same type.

"Hey, get up!" Seph said quickly before turning to focus on his battle, "You CAN get up right? You're not hurt?" he was a bit angered that the girl wasn't answering his questions, but he couldn't blame her. She was probably scared and from the looks of it alone. What was with him and finding girls lost out in the woods?

Silas shook his head, trying to ward off the painful ringing in his ears from the Burmy's scream. He growled, turning his attention quickly over to the Budew. He tilted his head in confusion as he saw the Turtwig suddenly enter the battlefield. After witnessing it battle without much difficulty, he decided to take it upon himself to attack the Burmy.

"Silas!" Philomel squeaked, oddly intimidated by the leaf-coated pokemon. The Zorua looked over, sighing at the sight. The Burmy wasn't even attacking! It just stood there, glaring at his trainer. Silas could already tell it was a youngling from how it didn't seem to know how to attack, along with the abnormally small amount of leaves it had collected. He'd seen many Burmy in the past, but this one was just far too small and far too unprepared to be an adult. He lunged at it, only to be reflected by a sudden barrier of protect.

Philomel was alarmed, watching as her partner was sent backwards. "Silas, are you okay?!" She managed to utter, her voice still small and barely heard. However, it seemed Silas was able to pick up her words, as he gave a small nod in return. He hissed, before using Leer. The dark fox's eyes glinted, surprising the young Burmy. It used Protect once more, but failed due to the lack of attack. The moment its barrier shattered, the Zorua took another pounce. This time, his claws successfully landed. He scraped his sharp claws across the bug, earning a loud, pained cry from it.

Seph heard the sharp cry, but ignored it. He hated harming the pokemon, but the pokemon were about to attack them. He began to think maybe the smell still lingered on him, he was dragged from his thoughts and brought back to the battlefield when his Turtwig was suddenly knocked backwards by a growing Budew. It had used Growth and tossed it's body at the turtwig, seeing as the pokemon wasn't very affected by the Grass Type attack.

Seph hadn't even noticed that the girl WAS standing. He was confused by all the chaos going on, and even had his turtwig use withdraw again despite not needing it. The turtwig reluctantly obeyed, withdrawing into her shell as the budew shoved it's body at the turtwig once more, the turtwig's shell was sent spinning, but not much damage was done thankfully.

Seph finally regained his composure and ordered his pokemon to finish it off with a final tackle. The turtwig nodded and rushed towards the budew, eager to tackle it and claim victory. The pokemon succeeded. The Budew cried out as it was sent back to the bushes where it came from.

Silas, on the other hand, seemed to be doing this battle solo. It wasn't like he even needed help. He knew battle better than the back of his paw, and his opponent was a mere baby! He growled, using Leer once more as the Burmy began curling up in fear. The leaf-covered pokemon tried using Protect, unaware that the Zorua wasn't preparing an attack. Its barrier broke once more, and its small body was met with another painful Scratch attack.

The Zorua put more effort on the hit rather than the scrape, sending the ball of a Burmy through the bushes as well. He watched as it followed the Budew, eyes half-lidded and unamused. A frown dawned his face even in his victory. That is, if you could call it a victory. Oh well, not all battles could be fair, he supposed. The dark fox looked over to his trainer, who still hadn't moved her back off the bark. "Zoru! Zorua, zoru. < There! I got rid of it. Stop cowering. >"

Philomel felt relief flood over her as she saw her beloved Zorua win the fight. He didn't seem to have been harmed, other than hitting his head a few times from the Protects. She was just glad he was safe. But she still felt terrible. What kind of trainer was she? She just let her pokemon do all the work. She frowned, before finally moving away from the tree and kneeling down in front of her partner. She brought a hand up, scratching the dark type's head. It didn't receive a purr or any sign of gratitude, but she didn't mind. "Sorry." She muttered to her partner, who stared blankly at her in return.

The girl looked up from her pokemon, finally paying attention to the boy. Her head lowered, seeming to be trying to hide. Sadly, her current coat didn't have a long, upright collar to do the deed. She attempted to mutter a thank you, but it sounded much too soft to be heard.

Seph blamed himself for the young girl's nervousness. Did he intimidate her? Was it because of the bow? He assumed that is was because of the bow that she was so nervous, "L-Look I may have a bow, but I don't actually use it. I don't even have any arrows on me!" He removed his brown cloak to reveal his white shirt with normal pants underneath. He put his cloak back on and said, "See?"

His wait for a reaction from the girl was interrupted as an round object dropped from the tree and onto his skull. He gave a yell and fell over to the ground, stunned. The round object seemed to have bounced back into the air from the impact and landed neatly on his shoulder. There was a crack in the round object, for it was an egg that had just barely hatched.

A treecko was also in the tree above, it peered down at the two as it had dropped the egg onto the boy's head by accident.

Philomel seemed surprised when he mentioned a bow. Her shock doubled when he suddenly removed his cloak. By impulse, the girl brought her arms up and covered her eyes. She didn't move from her current stance until she heard him yell. She lowered her arms, watching as the boy fell to the ground. An egg dropped down on him, furthering the girl's confusion. She looked up, seeing a Treecko standing on a branch. It seemed not too happy at seeing the egg drop.

Silas glared, emitting a low, rumbling growl. Why did that Treecko have an egg? More importantly, why did it drop the egg? It didn't even seem like a Treecko egg from its patterns. He took a step forward, still focusing on the gecko.

The Treecko chuckled, before suddenly dropping down. It did a flip, showing off as it descended. It seemed its timing was right, as it dealt a hard Pound on the Zorua's head using its large tail. The dark type screeched in pain, falling onto the ground. The grass type, on the other hand, landed on its two feet without difficulty. It snickered at the fox, before turning towards the egg. It got ready to pounce, determined to take it back.

But Silas was having none of it. He quickly got back to his feet, before lunging at the Treecko with a Scratch attack. The Treecko held back its cry as it was hit, being sent a few steps backwards. It glared at the Zorua. "Treecko, tree treecko tree. <Watch it, buddy. I'm only here for the egg.>"

"Zoru, zorua. <Too bad, you aren't getting it.>" The fox growled back.

Seph groaned and rubbed his head, "What hit me?" he wondered aloud. He felt something moving on his back and reached back to touch it, investigating what was moving. He instead felt something nip on his hand, he gave a yell in pain and jumped up. The thing on his back fell off and hit the ground harshly enough to break.

The egg shell flew everywhere and revealed a black and brown pokemon with large ears. It looked around in confusion and then at Seph, "Shinx?" it spoke in wonder. It looked at the seemingly sky scraper sized man with brown hair in a cloth coat, a bit confused by the man's difference from it. It had assumed that this was it's mother.

Seph was just as confused as the Shinx, he didn't quite know what this pokemon was either. He looked to see a treecko fighting the black and red fox like pokemon, and saw that the fox seemed to handle it. His hands were full as the shinx leaped onto him and began to climb around his body like a monkey and into his coat to investigate. It felt like a rattata was going through his clothes. He gave a yell and tried to reach for it and drag it out, but it seemed to have gotten itself entangled in his back, where he kept his bag-of-pokeballs and bumped into a pokeball.

Silas had to give it to the Treecko- it battled just as well as he could. Well, not entirely. Its movements seemed too dependent on hit-and-run, which was a fairly easy tactic to break past. All he needed to do was set up a trap of sorts. The Zorua endured and retaliated as best as he could, waiting for the right time.

The Treecko ran up to the fox once more, focused on beating it down. It was not going to let some pampered trainer pokemon defeat it. Its legs were quick, and it spun around as it prepared to hit the Zorua with another Pound.

Silas finally took the chance. His body glowing with dark aura, he disappeared. He reappeared once more, suddenly in level with the Treecko's head. He tackled the grass type hard, using a Pursuit. It wasn't as effective as the Treecko wasn't fleeing, but it was quick enough to cut off half its opponent's attack. The Zorua endured the damage he still received from the spinning Pound, and in exchange watched as the gecko was sent flying to a tree.

The Treecko hit the bark, giving a pained cry. It sat there for a moment, before suddenly getting back up its feet. Okay, now it was really ticked off. It used Leer, its piercing yellow eyes surprising the Fox to lower his defense.

Joseph finally got the shinx out of his coat when it broke free of the pokeball that it had struck. He gave an annoyed huff as he held it out in front of him with an annoyed look. The Shinx laughed and tried to bat at his nose, the wind blew a leaf by that tickled the Electric pokemon's nose. The shinx gasped for a bit before giving a sneeze that released it's electric energy from it's body. Seph was electrocuted since he was holding the shinx. He yelled in pain as he was shocked and fell over onto his back, dropping the shinx in the process.

Flora meanwhile had been watching the fight with the treecko, ready to leap in at any moment if she was needed, "Umm...do you want me to help?" she offered to the fox even though it seemed like the tricky pokemon was winning.

Silas' ears twitched as he heard the Turtwig in the sidelines finally speak. He faced her giving a quick reply. "Zorua, zo zoru, zo. <No no, it's fine. Just stay at a safe distance.>" He said, before turning his attention back at the Treecko. His reaction, however, was far too late. The grass type had sped to him, giving him a quick blow to the snout.

Silas cried as his muzzle got hit, the force strong enough to send him to the ground. He shook his head, hurrying back to his feet as he saw the Treecko go for another pounce. He shot a quick Leer, trying to lower its defense before rushing for a retaliation. As it drew close enough, he jumped up and used Scratch. He had tried to aim for its head, but was only able to attack its chest. Nonetheless, it caused enough shock for the Treecko to lose footing. The grass type toppled onto the fox, causing the two to begin rolling around as they quarreled, bit, and hit at each other.

Philomel didn't know what to do! She watched the battle, fretting for her beloved pokemon's life. Silas seemed to be doing well on his own, but his strength was practically equal to the Treecko. She tried to think of some way to help. She wanted to be useful. She was his trainer after all. Finally, an idea came upon her. She rummaged quickly through her bag, before taking out a small pokeball. She pressed the button, returning it to normal size. Focusing her amber eyes on the duo, she tried to aim. She threw the pokeball, hoping it would land on the Treecko.

Meanwhile, the shinx had been sitting on top of Seph's chest while he lay on the ground passed out. It noticed that he smelled a bit different. It also smelled that another being had made it's presence to the side of it. It looked to see a terrifying mask to the side of it. The shinx shrieked in fear and jumped into the air from the shock, only to land on yet another pokeball and be sucked in.

Flora was growing concerned again...until the treecko was sucked into the pokeball and captured with relative ease on the pokeball's part. Flora wondered why the pokemon was even after the egg in the first place, since it was so close to hatching anyways. The turtwig tilted her head as she looked at the skittish trainer. What were they going to do next?

1...2....3... CLICK! Philomel watched, mouth agape as the pokeball suddenly stopped moving. She... she did it. She actually captured her FIRST pokemon! The girl couldn't help but give a soft squeal, jumping a few times in place. Her first capture! She walked to the pokeball, picking it up with one hand while the other rummaged in her back to take out a Pokedex. Examining the pokemon inside, the Pokedex said it was apparently female. The young trainer felt lucky. There weren't that many female Treeckos in the wild. Or at least, the books she had read said so. She carefully typed in a name, choosing one that wasn't too girly. This Treecko seemed tough, and probably would've been able to defeat Silas. Morgan. Her name was going to be Morgan. She put the Pokedex away, looking down to see if her Zorua was glad.

Unfortunately, it didn't seem so. Silas looked upset, mad even. He glared up at his trainer, fangs bared. Why did she capture that Treecko? It was a crook! And it was HIS battle. "Zoru, zorua! Zoru zorua?! <What do you think you're doing! That Treecko is not fit for our team!>"

Philomel frowned, noticing her partner's anger. "Silas, she's okay... She's just a bit rough on the edges is all..." She muttered. The fox gave a few more protests, before huffing and sitting down. The Zorua glared, before turning its head away. The trainer sighed, before turning her attention to the boy. Silas was not in the mood to talk, so- The girl raised a brow, seeing a Shinx suddenly shoot out from a pokeball. And... was that boy electrified? This was getting weird.

Lucius the yamask stared at the Shinx with a bored expression as he waited for his master to get up. He seemed to loathe even being there right then. Flora had usually kept away from the depressing pokemon, and instead looked to see if Seph was alright.

Seph was fine, perfectly fine, except for being electrocuted. He sat up slowly and glared at the shinx, although he hadn't wanted to hurt pokemon...this pokemon was getting on his nerves and he wanted revenge. He grabbed the nearest item and launched it at the Shinx out of anger for torturing him in this way. He was instantly hit across the head by Lucius. It seemed the the pokemon seemed to be telling him, "Chill dude, it's just a kid..."

The shinx screeched in...joy? It seemed to think this was a game of catch. It leaped up with it's mouth open to catch the item, which happened to be a pokeball.

Philomel seemed taken back when she saw the boy throw the ball with such anger. It was just a baby Shinx. Sure, it was a bit too lively, but that was normal for kids. She found it awfully cute. She watched as the ball finally sucked up the little electric type, bathing it with red light and landing on the ground. It took thrice, before giving a satisfying click!

"C...Congratulations on getting your Shinx..." She managed to say, her voice finally loud enough that she could be heard, but still soft enough that it wasn't at a normal volume. She smiled slightly, feeling grateful for the boy. But she still felt unsure. He seemed to be irritated by it. Would he really be able to take care of it?

Silas rolled his eyes, unimpressed by the capture. It was just a baby, and the trainer took 3 Pokeballs to finally catch it. Was he an amateur?

Seph's palm slammed into his face when he realized he had used a pokeball on the shinx. Great, now he was stuck with the annoying thing that had shocked him and annoyed him. He sighed, attempting to calm himself down and mumbled, "Thanks..."grumpily as he picked up the pokeball. He would give the pokemon to a trainer that seemed to be nice...he pocketed the pokeball and looked to see Lucius giving his usual solemn look as he floated about. Not only had the shinx wasted three pokeballs of his, it had bothered Lucius form his needed rest. The pokemon didn't seem to want to go back into it's ball so it simply continued to float around and examine the new trainer with a disinterested look.

Seph sighed, this was obviously not his day. He turned to the girl who seemed to have caught a treeko, "Sorry about that...are you okay?" he asked, trying to be polite.

Zoruas, Eevees, Wrumples Oh my! Empty Re: Zoruas, Eevees, Wrumples Oh my!

Philomel wanted to shy away again now that they were actually talking, but resisted the urge once she saw the glare Silas was giving her. She gulped, hoping that the Zorua wasn't too mad at her. Was it because of the Treecko or was it because of her attitude right now? She decided to play safe. Besides, he seemed polite... kind of.

"D-duh uh... I'm f-fine... Are y-you?" She said, inevitably stuttering on a number of her words. Upon realizing her mistakes, the girl felt like dying on the spot. Stupid, stupid, stupid. She sounded stupid. Now the trainer was going to laugh at her. She waited, trembling ever so slightly.

Silas raised a brow, no longer paying attention to either of the trainers. Right now, his attention was focused on a very peculiar pokemon. It gave off a familiar vibe. A ghost type, maybe?

"I'm fine..." he responded, not sure with how to react to the shy girl. He wondered if the girl thought he was weird or mean because of how he reacted to the small shinx. He flinched when he heard a loud growling sound, realizing that it was his stomach growling. He hadn't eaten much in two days. He cleared his throat, trying to cover the noise before speaking, "Anyways, congratulations on catching the treecko and such. I wonder why it was trying to steal the shinx's egg in the first place..." he had assumed that the treecko was stealing since the treecko was female so it wasn't the mother and treeckos don't eat eggs from his knowledge.

The Yamask looked at the Zorua as if to say, "What?" without actually speaking. He still held his bored and serious expression as he floated in a small circuit. Lucius watched as his friend made a fool of himself in front of the girl, He never was good with woman...especially when they argued...

Philomel couldn't help but laugh when she picked up on a growling sound. She put her hand up and closed her mouth, now feeling terrible for laughing at the boy's expense. That was mean. Why did she do that? A frown took its place behind her hand, realizing her mistake. Well, so much for making a new friend. Why would she even need any friends? No one liked her.

"Sorry! I'm so s-sorry!" She said, apologizing repeatedly. She didn't pay attention to any more of the boy's words, deciding it was high time she made her way off before bothering anyone any longer. She hurried over to Silas, who was unable to reply to the Yamask as he was abruptly picked up. The girl held the Zorua up to her chest, still muttering apologies. "I... have to go now, sorry!" She said, before suddenly running further down the forest.

Seph was trying to explain that he was ok with the girl laughing at him, the girl began to run away and he sighed in frustration. He debated just letting her leave when he saw a large green pokmon suddenly blow past him and after the girl. The pokemon had something wrapped around it's blades that looked similar to a bellsprout and a pink wrumple clinging to it's back. Seph grew worried about the girl with so many pokemon going after her, and gave chase to the scyther.

Lucius and Flora were startled by the sudden appearance, but when they witnessed their trainer running towards it they followed close behind. The turtwig running as fast as its stubby legs could take it, and the Yammask floating as fast as it could. They reached a small clearing with what seemed to be burned and charred trees, "What happened?" he wondered. He yelled in surprise as he dodged a wrumple's string shot as it attempted to tie him up.

"Hey, girl, are you ok? Where are you?" He cried desperately, hoping he wasn't alone.

Philomel's eyes widened as she ran across what seemed to be a charred clearing. She was caught by surprise when her legs suddenly got caught, sending her to the ground once more. She groaned, hating her luck. Why was she tripping so much today? She squeaked when she realized she had accidentally crushed her Zorua under her weight, but was relieved as she saw him more dazed than hurt. She looked down her legs, seeing some sort of silk wrapped around it. She looked up, not expecting what she saw.

In the clearing was an Scyther attempting to fight off a Wurmple and a Bellsprout. The small pokemon would've usually been fairly easy to beat off, but the fact they clung and restrained its movements made the task much harder than need to be. The Scyther screeched, trying to get the two bug pokemon off. It was angry. Angry, hurt, and aching to get these two off. Small signs of burns were cluttered all about its body, along with a few punctures caused by bites.

Silas growled, glaring at the Scyther. Was it fending off those two bugs? It shouldn't be that hard. His frustration soon disappeared when he heard the blade pokemon cry out for help. Ears drooping, the Zorua debated whether or not he should answer that call.

Philomel was surprised when her dark fox suddenly squeezed out of her hold, watching as it ran to the battle field and begin scratching at the small bugs.

Seph watched as the scyther fought off the two pokemon. He had thought that the pokemon was transporting the pokemon along to help it out with attacking the female trainer. He shook the thought out of his head, that wasn't what was happening obviously and he had been wrong. He hated being wrong. He watched as Flora ran to help the fox pokemon help the scyther, not really surprised but continued to give the pokemon orders anyways. He had his pokemon tackle the other pokemon, since that was the only thing Flora really COULD do right then.

While his pokemon was fighting, he ran over to the girl offered to help her up with a hand, "Are you okay?" he asked. He doubted the girl would answer since she didn't seem to be the talkative type. He thought that she would just run away and probably get lost or attacked again.
