The Missing Child

Post by BlueKat12 on Mon May 13, 2013 9:44 pm

Rave looked up at the towering buildings, amazed by how tall they were. He was pushed around by the bustling crowd, causing the rufflet on his shoulder to squawk and struggle to regain balance. He was knocked over completely in no time, that was when the pokeball in his bag opened up and released his mightyena. The crowd flinched away from the ferocious looking creature and made a wide circle around her as her trainer got himself back on his feet.

"Uh...Thanks Runa" He said.

His mightyena gave him a glare then huffed before walking off without him, she missed the friendly Rave the knew her, not this terrified one. He quickly caught up to her, not sure on where she was going exactly. Fact was, neither did she. His rufflet clung back onto his shoulder with an annoyed huff as the trio walked through the streets with ease, Runa creating a path in the crowd of people just by her existence.

Rave noticed a bulletin board looking device that was on what seemed to be a floating tv screen. He approached it, curious. He marveled at the screen, it showed what seemed to be thousands of papers of help wanted signs and such. What really caught his attention though, was a missing child poster. He tapped on it and flinched when it suddenly grew wider and showed a picture of a boy with black hair, blue eyes and looked exactly like him.

"I-I'm...a missing child?" he mumbled. He studied the sign a bit more before tapping it again by accident. He heard the machine whirl and print out a paper to the side of it, causing him to come around in curiosity and pick it up. The machine had printed it out!

He began to walk away, staring at the page as Runa followed him. She was a bit curious about the paper herself. He read it aloud as he walked, "Gabriel Justiic,I though Rave was my name, missing since April 13th this year. Believed to have been abducted by a possibly hostile kidnapper. Last seen-" that was when he bumped into someone who didn't move out of his and the mightyena's way. The rufflet and mightyena returned to their pokeballs just in case.

Gabriel looked up to see a tall police man's back in front of him, who was turning around and NOT looking happy. "S-Sorry!" Rave apologized.

The cop looked at him then the paper, "Uh, son. Come with me please" Without waiting for an answer, he grabbed Rave's elbow and dragged him along an towards the police office of Titantro City.

Once he had been dragged to the station, he had been told to sit on a bench, with an officer of the law to stand guard over him. He swallowed, unsure of what to do so he talked, "So...uh...any news?"

"I have orders to not speak to you other than to tell you i'm not allowed to speak to you" the officer replied with an annoyed huff.

"Oh...well...sorry..."he said, going back to looking down at his hands.

"You kids sure are rotten to the core..."the officer spoke anyways, "Your pour mother's been worried sick! I bet you ran away instead of being kidnapped."

"I dunno..."he responded.

"Do you have any idea how worried sick your mother must be?"

"I dunno her..."

"Christ kid, don't you know anything?"

"No...I can't remember anything..." he mumbled, "I have a case of amnesia..."

"Sure you do kid..." The police officer snorted.

He heard a concerned voice sound from the other room, is that her? he wondered. The voice was soon hushed and a woman appeared in the doorway, she was short, blonde with curly hair, and a disgustingly pink and frilly dress. She seemed disgusted to be here, but when she laid eyes on Rave she nearly broke into tears, "My boy!" she cried. She rushed forward to hug him, but he found himself instinctively dodging her hug. She stared at him for a moment before sighing and saying, "I get it...you're still not happy with me."

He found himself being dragged into car that was more like a swat car that was pimped out to look a bit like a limo. He was tossed into the seats on the side and the pink frilly lady joined him inside. Once the doors closed and the van was moving was when the lady stood, and slapped him back handed. Her showy rings left a scratch on his cheek, he looked at her in disbelief and earned yet another slap to the cheek, "WHAT did I tell you about showing your emotions? That's exactly what got you kidnapped in the first place!"

"What? Kidnapped?" he exclaimed in surprise, earned another slap and a third scar on his cheek, "Why do you keep hitting me!?" he cried in anger, "Aren't you supposed to be my moth-" he was cut off by yet another hit.

"When you show your emotions i'm your trainer not your mother. Now you are going somewhere where you can't be taken again and won't be harmed again!" she huffed. She walked over to a cupboard that looked like it was supposed to carry come type of medical supplies. Maybe this was previously and ambulance? He watched as she took out a needle and began walking towards him.

Rave knew this was bad news, he launched himself at the door and began to pull and push at the doors, rattling them. They seemed to be locked though, he felt a pinch in his back and instantly felt himself grow limp and slump to the ground, "Trust me. It's for your own good." 'Mother' said with loving and care. Rave knew, he hated that woman.

Re: The Missing Child

Post by BlueKat12 on Mon May 13, 2013 10:57 pm

Memories flooded through his mind like, well a flood. First came the memories of his first abduction.

"Hey kid, what's your name?" the strange man had asked.

"Gabriel...but I like it better when people call me Rave..." he had said as a child.

"Well then Rave, I heard you like pokemon!"

"Do I ever!" Rave had said excitedly.

His mother had appeared just then to call him in. The man had grabbed him around the waist and ran off with the flailing child. Rave was then stuffed in a cellar and being held captive for a ransom. It was several weeks in the dark basement before he was able to see light again, he had been starved and dehydrated. He was given little to eat and drink, and was saved in the nick of time.

When he had returned and been nursed back to health, the "training" had began. Whenever he showed a single sign of emotion publicly or to his mother he would be punished severely, be it slaps to being struck with a ruler. He had finally mastered what his mother had called, "masking" when he turned 16, that's when he finally ran away. He had been about to remember just how he ran away, when he felt himself be lifted and tossed into a cushiony floor.

He finally woke to find himself in a white room with a jacket strapped around him, "Wh-What!?" he cried. He looked to see his mother at the door way as it closed, smiling and crying with what seemed to be joy. He didn't' show his emotions though, he had remembered all the pain that showing emotions had brought him.

The door seemed to echo like thunder as it came to a close, leaving Rave to stare at it. He face showed nothing, he was no longer the caring him that he had been the past few days. He had resumed his "proper" and cold self, the single visible security camera was focused on him. He only stared back into it when it moved.

The guard on the other side shivered, it felt as if the boy was seeing him and not the camera, "Jeez, this kid is creepy. No wonder his mom wanted to throw him in the loony bin." He sighed as he looked at the time, he was on watch of this prisoner for an entire week. He hoped it would go fast, he also hoped the mightyena in the pokeballs they had confiscated didn't come back out. That thing was vicious!

An entire week he waited, Rave sat in the middle of the floor. His hands bound in a arm cross, he was thinking of a way to get out of here. He couldn't give HER the satisfaction of thinking that she was keeping him safe. He couldn't let HER control his life. He couldn't listen to MOTHER. He remembered the day he had decided to run away clearly. Almost as if it happened yesterday, since it did happen just that year.

He was being tested on that day. His mother had paid a kid to come and call him names and beat him, then a girl to come and be nice to him and try to get him to tell her what had happened. It was no use, Rave was able to maintain the poker face, and be as emotional as a brick. His mother was pleased, she had clapped her hands excitedly and sent the other hesitant children away. She then went on as if the whole training thing hadn't happened.

Rave loathed her. She acted as if none of the abuse had happened and they were just one big normal happy family. What had his dad done? Nothing. What had the police done? Nothing. What could he do? Something. He was sent to bed like normal that night, his mother had more of a skip in her step than usual too. He had decided to run away that night, to just leave. He hadn't done it sooner due to the fear of his mother's wrath, but now she seemed to have lightened up a bit. Now was the time to run. Do what he always wanted to do, and be free.

He had climbed out the window, luckily there was a tree to help him down from the three story house. He grabbed onto the long branch and slowly sagged down to the ground, he let go before the branch whipped back into place and scratched his window a bit like it did during storms. That used to terrify him as a child, but no more now that he had received his "training". He had easily stolen himself away into the forest and didn't look back.

Rave was snapped out of his memories when he heard screaming and a banging sound. He opened his eyes, and stared at the door. The screams grew louder and closer, until finally a huge dent appeared in the steel door. There was a pause then another loud bang as the dent was enlarged, another pause before the door flew in and past him. He didn't even flinch despite how surprised he was.

In the doorway, an oddly colored Axew blinked and looked at him curiously. She smiled and walked on over to him, ignoring the panicking people behind her. She moved closer to her trainer, and saw the restraints. She grew angry, and used a furious dual chop that cut the restraints and freed her trainer.

Her trainer stood without a word, and just walked. Thank you... he thought, but didn't say. He walked down the hall way with cowering nurses and aids, they cowered from the Axew that followed him. His Axew skipped along happily occasionally doing a twirl and jumping off of a passed out person's legs.

Rave continued down the halls, he had seen the entrance but had not yet left. He had to find his other pokemon. he couldn't leave without them. Runa and Rufflet were waiting for him, and he was going to get them back if it was the last thing he did.

Axew hopped along happily as she led the way to the pokeballs that contained her partners. She gave a twirl in the air as her trainer walked along behind her. It was quiet strangely, people had bolted as soon as they caught sight of the Axew's wrath, this made Rave assume that not many people here had pokemon. He simply glanced about until he saw a pokeball on a desk, he walked over to it to see a label on it that said, "Patient 626's Mightyena" He tossed the pokeball in to the air, causing it to open and release a mightyena.

The mightyena yawned as if groggy and looked at Rave, it simlpy huffed and returned to it's pokeball. That wasn't his mightyena, he thought. He placed the pokeball back on the desk and turned to see a bagon had been glaring at him from behind. The bagon had a pokeball wrapped around it's neck and didn't look too happy to see Rave.

Rave saw another label on the pokeball that read, "Keep away from special client at all costs" and assumed that was his pokemon. Knowing his mother, she had probably bribed the place to keep him here. He looked to his Axew, who had gave a huff at the bagon followed by a raspberry. The bagon grew enrages and charged forward, using headbutt.

"Dodge. Dual chop" the stoic trainer ordered. The axew nodded in agreement and side stepped, the bagon continued forward, not noticing the Axew had moved and darted straight towards Rave's legs. Rave didn't move though, not even a flinch in fear as the bagon moved to crush his legs.

The bagon screeched in surprise when a hard force struck it's nose and caused it to smash into the ground. It was dealt large damage and the pokeball wrapped around its neck snapped off, the flight in the air was interrupted by Rave's hand snatching it out of the air. The bagon snarled and used Leer while trying to Bite the Axew.

Axew's defenses were lowered by the leer, and was bitten. She screamed in pain and instinctively delivered another Dual Chop on it's back. The bagon was stunned from the impact on it's spine and fell on the floor. Axew took advantage of this and used another dual chop, knocking it out. Axew breathed heavily though, the bite had been critical and that leer didn't help at all. She tried to deny being recalled, she had to stay out here and help her trainer escape, even though her side hurt where she had been bitten. She finally gave up when Rave continued to try to recall her.

Rave was annoyed when the Axew tried to refuse his order, she was hurt, he didn't want her to get hurt even more. He looked at the newly retrieved pokeball and tossed it into the air to check the pokemon inside. The ball opened up and flashed red as a rufflet appeared and flapped about in the air, as if searching frantically for something. When it noticed Rave, it dive bombed into the boy and hugged him with his wings. The rufflet was a bit disappointed to find that his trainer was once again stoic and emotionless. The rufflet hugged the trainer anyways, happy to see him alive and well.

Rave looked around before smiling at the rufflet, nobody was there to see, so how could it hurt? It seemed to make the rufflet feel better anyway. He marched forward in the maze of hallways and rooms, occasionally running into an assistant that would just walk nervously and back away before running. Rave wondered if he looked that intimidating right then, he decided to ignore it and continue. until he came back to the entrance. He was beginning to grow worried, where was Runa?

Runa huffed as she sniffed about the garbage, hunger wasn't a thing she favored. She abandoned the trash, finding nothing, and looked at a sign that read, "Cafeteria" in human. She didn't understand it though, she was a mightyena! What she DID understand however, was the picture of sandwhiches and burgers below it. She licked her lips with a sly smile as she pushed open the limp doors and tiptoed in. She had hoped to be sneaky, but was noticed immediately.

"THERE'S A MIGHTYENA IN HERE!" some lady screamed as she ran out the door on the other side. Runa just huffed and sniffed the plate the woman had abandoned while the other humans stared at her. She lapped up some soda from her cup and casually ate the generous portion of steak that the lady had so kindly given to her. She looked at the humans who were still registering the arrogance of this pokemon.

"Might? Mightyena Migh?" What? Never seen a girl eat? with that she lumbered off into another hall way that the screaming girl had just run through. She continued her walk down the hall, following the familiar scent of outside to an emergency exit door.

Rave panicked, he heard sirens in the distance. It wasn't police though, it was most likely his mother who had pimped out the ambulance. He wanted to stay and look for Runa, but his rufflet had begun to drag him out the door with furious flapping. Rave finally gave in to Rufflet, and dashed into the alley-way close by. His pulse pounded as he watched his mother dash into the building with several men behind her back. Why did she have to be so dang wealthy?

Rave felt like crying like a little boy though, he didn't know where Runa was or if she was okay. His face kept still though, his bawling would probably give away his spot. He would have to leave Runa...he hated himself for even thinking of that. He decided he would wait, wait until-"Mightyena!" a happy voice barked behind him. He pivoted around to see Runa happily wagging her tail with a joyful expression.

Runa could sense that her trainer was holding back the urge to hug him. She simply nudged his hand and gave it a reassuring lick before returning to her pokeball. Rave was left alone as his rufflet returned as well. Rave was happy though, his pokemon were back and he had his memories back. He remembered leaving Feronia, leaving so he could come to Ichigo where he heard pokemon were being literally killed. He would find someway to help them, even if it killed him.

A woman bumped into a boy with baggy jeans, a red t-shirt and dark hair who looked as if his face was stone, "Oh my!" she called, upset that he didn't apologize. She was in a bad mood, and was about to give him a good lecture about it, until she noticed a slight smile on his face. It was faint, it could barely be seen. She decided to leave him be, maybe it was an accident. There was no reason for her to ruin the boy's, who's name was Rave little did she know, day.

9/10, This, in my opinion, is great example of a Mono-Rp, it has plot, story, ectra. However, the fight scene between the Bagon, and the Axew could have been prolonged, assuming they are equal level that is..... Anyway, in final review, I deem this Mono-Rp a good success, and Award the following.
-800 Poke'
-3 Levels to be assigned as you see fit.
If there is any debate let the people speak now. No? Okay then.
