Trainer / CoordinatorPersonality:
Nyx is, to put it simply, a very, very, determined trainer. She loves pokemon and training to unholy degrees, and will go through lengths in order to become stronger and reach her goal of becoming the 'Pokemon Master'. She prioritizes her pokemon over herself, sometimes forgetting about her own health in the process. She may lose a limb or two, but even that won't stop her from going out into the nearest route to train her team. Rain, snow, blistering heat, it doesn't matter for her unless her pokemon are becoming affected. The only things that can prevent her from training are her pokemon, and how hungry she is.
Determination and headstrong bravery aside, Nyx is naive and can be rather foolish at times. She can learn to tolerate most awful people for long periods without a single complain, but will snap once they begin commenting on her team. She does not tolerate people or pokemon harming her beloved allies, and can even result to physical retaliation if they've really ticked her off. She's stubborn, and hates apologizing or admitting her wrongs. She usually ends up blaming other people or elements, not even considering other people's feelings during her blind, angered state. However, she is considerate, and will try to make up for her mistakes.
A peculiar trait of hers is her fascination for the undead and the paranormal. Having been raised in a spiritual family, Nyx has the ability to communicate with spirits and can identify most spiritual energies left in places, items, and whatever she can come close enough to examine. When left with nothing to do, she tends to try and test out some of the odd rituals she was taught. Usually these rituals involved typical 'spirit summonings' or triggering visions. Not even she can tell if what she's seeing or hearing is correct, and can often mistake one thing for another. With her discontinuing her family's studies for the future of training, she has yet to truly hone her abilities. However, if the spirit she is communicating with has enough will, she can decipher their words as clear as a real human's voice.Appearance:
Nyx was previously a brunette, but had her hair dyed purple due to a bet with one of her siblings. She doesn't seem to mind, and somewhat enjoys the odd color. She's a considerable tanned now thanks to her travels (Going into the desert without sunscreen was a terrible idea). A bit shorter in height than usual, she is of average weight. Which is surprising, seeing how she's a complete glutton. She has bright blue eyes, which contrast greatly to her frequent attire of whites, reds and purples. Due to the constant chills she gets from detecting spiritual energy, she often wears sweaters. But one thing she is always wearing is her headband, which is adorned by bells on both ends that ring whenever she moves. Which is irritating for anyone nearby.History:
Born into a large family in Lavender Town, Nyx had a pretty average life. Average, except for the fact her family was woven into a life surrounded by spirits and superstition. They would pay regular visits to the Pokemon Tower. Her family had close ties to all the Channelers and Mediums that frequented the ominous resting place. Often, they would be hired for prayers, mournings, and other usual tasks in order to calm the spirits who dwell the area. At the early age of 5, Nyx was taught how to communicate, calm, and how to act in the presence of ghosts and sacred dwellings. It wasn't in any way threatening, except for the rare event that one of the more foolish visitors get possessed by an angered spirit. Luckily, Nyx's family and fellow Channelers were able to assist in such occurrences and exorcise the victim back to normal.
With her duties aside, Nyx was satisfied with her life, even though she never made any friends due to her odd relatives. The only problem she had was her siblings. Being one of the younger children, she was never able to outshine or get respect from her brothers and sisters, having to stay in their shadows as they began to excel in many fields and find their futures. She watched her older siblings turn into scientists, trainers, coordinators, even Channelers who would take over the family business at the Tower. With her siblings honoring the family, she was left with the task of making a name for herself and bring her own share of glory to their name. But alas, she was left clueless as to what she wanted to do with her life. They wouldn't be needing her help in the tower anymore, so there was practically no reason to stay in her old, little town.
It was then the most peculiar of incidents occurred. During one of her visits to the tower, a wild Gastly began to follow her. She thought the ghost pokemon just wanted to mess with her, and expected the pokemon to leave her alone once she left. Turns out the ghost wasn't planning on leaving her any time soon, and as the years passed, Nyx had to learn to put up with the Gastly's antics. It wasn't easy having to take the blame for the pokemon's pranks and tomfooleries, but she did find it amusing. It was a decent change from her dull routine.
At the age of 10, she decided she had enough. With her birthday present in her hand, she approached the Gastly with only one goal in mind: to capture it. The pokeball felt odd, but suiting for her. As if there was an odd familiarity about it. She threw the device towards the ghost, and mentally counted the minutes as she watched it get sucked into the ball in a red beam of light, fall onto the ground, and begin shaking. 1... 2... 3... Click! No words could describe her joy as she watched her first pokemon be caught. It felt great, seeing her first capture. Was this how trainers felt? She named the Gastly 'Lost', as a reminder of how the pokemon helped her realize what path she had to take for her future. She left her home, leaving her Gastly with her parents to watch over them in her absence.
She began her travels in a land called Feronia, where she picked up her first starter, an Eevee of the name Aloysius. She spent a few months there, capturing and training the few pokemon she had in her team. They weren't an impressive bunch, but she couldn't ask for a better combination of pokemon. Well, sort of. After they finished training in the region, she heard of another new land. One named Ichigo. A peculiar name, but she was aching to start anew after the many not-so-joyful events that had transpired in Feronia. With her bag swung over her shoulder and her Eevee on her head, she took the trip to the new region, hoping to continue her life as a trainer. Extra:
