[~Rave's turn for a Mono-RP~]
[This is a part One of an Character Arc that will focus on Rufflet and Rave]
The cafe wasn't bustling with customers this early in the morning, even though the sound of frying meat and assorted food buzzed in the air. The few customers that were there were still quiet for the morning had only just come and nocturnal pokemon were returning to their nests in exchange with the day pokemon. In entrance a stoic trainer pushed aside the vines that curtained the entrance and entered. On his should sat a rufflet that bit at his black hair a bit lovingly as the trainer took up a spot at two-seater table with nobody on the other side. He scratched the small hawk's chin as it hopped onto the table.
"C-can I take your order sir?" A waiter asked politely, he was a bit unnerved by the blank expression on the trainer's face. He didn't want to serve the boy, but he could use the cash.
"Just a glass of water please" The boy responded.
"Very well" The waited left, a bit annoyed since water was free in this establishment. If he was lucky the boy would leave a tip, but he should at least make sure. If he saved the boy, then the boy would SURELY give him a tip. So, he would go to the strongest looking trainer in the bar area and stir up some rumors.
The boy watched his rufflet peck curiously at salt packages as he waited for his water. He had wandered to this route then this cafe only moments ago and already he was bored. That's all he had been doing through out this region, either being dragged around unwillingly
by some relentless mysterious force named BlueKat12
or wandering. He needed some kind of goal, "What do you think? Not like anybody would hire me or want me for anything..." he asked his rufflet.
His rufflet turned to him at the sound of his voice and gave a happy chirp to try and cheer him up, even though his voice was mono-tone the pokemon could tell his trainer was a bit depressed. The rufflet was startled by something slamming onto the table, he screeched and fled to Rave's shoulder. Rave looked to see that a big burly man had slammed his fist on the table, the man smirked and said, "So, you're talking crap about me eh Kid? How about we have a little fight to determine who really is the Stupid Slimeball?" the man shoved the Rave's shoulder to try and aggravate him. Rave simply stared at the table in attempt to ignore him. The man gave an annoyed huff, "What's the matter? Meowth got yer' tongue?" he gave him a harsher shove that nearly shoved him out of his chair. Rave finally looked at the man with a blank stare, making the man think of it as a sign of defiance by accident.
The man grabbed Rave by the shirt and dragged him into the large pathway-like branches of the tree. The few customers in the cafe pretended as if nothing had been happening and didn't help the young man as he was harshly dragged away. He avoided crying out and kept his mono-tone face as he was tossed into the tree's trunk. Rufflet screeched in fear for his trainer and tried to attack the human to defend his trainer, he was bat aside with the swing of an arm and sent spiraling over the edge of the branch.
Rave stood up, rage flashed in his eyes. He stood himself up and used the tree to push himself into the man, nailing him the gut with his elbow. He then brought his fist up to give the man a upper-cut punch, but was interrupted by the burly man's meaty hand grabbing his wrist and hoisting him into the air harshly.
The man looked at the boy's face, hoping to see anger or maybe tears of sadness as his pokemon was tossed out of the tree with who knows what bones could have been broken with the hit. He only witnessed the boy's stone face, and shoes. Wait...shoes?
the man thought just before Rave had pulled himself up and kicked both of his legs at the man's face. The man released the boy with a cry of pain and was about to hurl another punch at him, but Rave had already fled back far enough to be well out of the man's reach.
Rave knew little about fighting, but at least the man he was fighting was stupid and fat. The man roared in rage like an animal, and charged towards the nimble boy like a fly to a bug zapper.
Rufflet screeched as he fell, he hit several branches on his way down. He was still stunned by the man's blow, and couldn't move. He had been diving head first straight towards a huge branch when he felt a pair of claws wrap around him carefully and his fall slowed into a light descent. When he and his savior landed, he was released from the grip. He turned to look at his savior to see a large mandibuzz looking down at him with a grin, "Had a fall now hadn't ya boy?"
it spoke."W-Who are you? Thanks for saving me and all, but why did you do it?"
Rufflet asked. He was a bit frightened by the bigger bird. He didn't know what type it was or where it came from, all he had to go with right then, was that the bird saved his life and that was about it.
The mandibuzz smiled, "I'm Buzzer. I'm a ranger's pokemon that was flying by that saw you fall." The mandibuzz looked closer at the small bird, as if inspecting him. "Your wing looks a bit busted, it would be best to climb back up instead of me carrying you or you flying. I'll escort you."
Rufflet had his doubts, but saw no harm. He had to get back up to Rave as soon as possible and help him as much as he could against the burly and dangerous man...then again...he couldn't do much against the man. He was weak...what could he do?
Buzzer noticed a distant and depressed look in the rufflet's eyes...but decided to ignore it for now, maybe it was just her seeing things.
